SHS Prom Celebrated at the House of Blues

Schurr High School students danced the night away at prom in the House of Blues in Anaheim on May 18.

Prom king and queen of 2019 was awarded to Alexander Dietze and Karla Luna. Once they were announced king and queen, their classmates and peers celebrated and spent the rest of the night dancing.

The House of Blues, located in Anaheim, is a live-music venue that is rock- and blues-themed.

“The location was really cool because it was a place that I would usually go to for concerts and I only stay on the bottom floor,” Mya Carrillo, junior, mentioned. “But to see it differently and spend more time in it was interesting.”

Prom is the best time to dress up and spend the night having fun with friends. Whether you were accompanied by a date or a group of friends, the evening is well spent together with peers that make you smile and laugh.

“The best part about prom was definitely hanging out with friends and making memories,” said Heriberto Lopez, junior.

To remember this day, cameras are always on and taking pictures in order to capture the wonderful memories everyone makes. This night is spent taking photos and making memories that will last for many years to come.

“The best part of having prom at the House of Blues was seeing the view before we got inside,” said Nicole Garcia, senior. “It was such a nice place to take pictures and was just beautiful inside and out.”

Prom is an unforgettable night, especially to a graduating senior because this is one of the last dances, they will spend with their high school peers.

“The best part of my prom experience was being on the dance floor,” said Garcia. “The DJ played good music to dance to and the dance floor was spacious enough for people to dance the whole night.”

Overall the House of Blues will always bring wonderful memories to Schurr High School students that celebrated prom by dancing the night away with friends.
