Happy Mother’s Day 2019*

Mother’s Day is a day used to celebrate everything that mothers do to support their children.

All year-long, our mothers are there by our side to support us and push us to be the best person we can possibly become.

They are always there to make us smile and laugh when tears fall down our face. Our mothers are always the first to care for us when we get sick.

No matter what age we are, during our most stressful time of our life, we can always count on our mothers to make us smile and remind us that we will be fine.

“My mom is always there to remind me that I can do anything I set my mind to,” said Karina Ruiz, senior at Schurr High School. “She is always there to make sure that I’m never stressed and if I do end up stressed, she’ll do everything in her power to make me feel better.”

Personally, I grew up with a mom that was always there for my siblings and I. She was always encouraging us to do our best and pushing us to go above and beyond in anything we do.

“If any activities I’m involved in, needs help, I know I can always count on her to volunteer and give a helping hand,” said Matt Paez, Schurr High School alumni. “I would like to thank her for always being reliable and doing her best to make my life just a bit easier.”

Many mothers support their children when they join a sport or activity. When I began colorguard at Schurr High School, my mom was always there to support me and cheer me on. I appreciated the fact that she took time out of her day to support me at my competitions. She believed in me before I could believe in myself.

“Whenever I have a competition for band, or need to go somewhere for band, she’s always there supporting me, but she, also goes above and beyond to supports others in the band, as well” said Elijah Peinado. “I would like to thank my mom for taking care of me whenever I’d get sick, for supporting me throughout all these years and for believing in me.”

I, Sophia Vega, would like to say thank you to all mothers and mother-figures. You have been there when we had no one to lean on. Thank you to my mom for supporting me and encouraging me to go beyond my comfort zone to become a better person. Happy Mother’s Day.
