Halloween 2015

Halloween at School

Last year, Halloween was on a Saturday, so my school celebrated it on a Friday. On Friday we had the whole day devoted to this spooky holiday. Throughout the day I was taking pictures for the yearbook staff. We had a celebration during lunch at school. The staff set up a costume contest like they do every year. The way this goes is that students volunteer to show off their costumes to the staff in front of the whole school -or at least the part of the school that came to this event. As staff members eliminate students, the audience awaits to find a winner. Once we found winners, everyone takes pictures and they play music for the rest of the time we have left for lunch. The whole day, everyone enjoys seeing how creative people get when it comes to costumes.

October 31st, 2015

The next day was October 31st and it was actually Halloween. Since my family had a Disneyland annual pass, we went to Disneyland during the day.  My best friend and I love the show “Once Upon a Time,” so when I was walking into the Disney area, I found a familiar looking object. Then I saw who the person was dress as and everything came together. She was the Evil Queen and she had the author’s book. So, of course, I fangirl and ask the nice lady for a picture so I could send my friend it. I got so excited! After I calmed down, we went on Space Mountain since they changed the ride to a Halloween theme. We took advantage of the time together and went on Splash Mountain. That’s my favorite ride but it’s always either too long or no one wants to go on with me.

Once it got dark, we spent the day at a family friend’s house, but they are considered family. The family’s mom, Rory, is friends with my mom and their child, Nadia, is friends with my sister and I.  My oldest brother is friends with Nadia’s dad, Joe, so they both took us trick-or-treating while my mom and Rory stayed at the house giving out candy. Once we came back, we ate fizzy fruit that my brother had made ahead of time. It was so delicious that we ate more fruit than candy. Once we got to our candy, we did a tradition -like action, where we dump all our candy together so it becomes one big pile of candy. Then we organize the candies and separate them among the 4 of us. (My brother, myself, Nadia, and my sister.) We spent the rest of the time trading candy and laughing outside. We were practically the loudest ones on the block.
